Urinary tract infections

My daughter, age 12, has had reoccuring UTI's since she was 4 years old. We found a pediatric urologist who has made such a difference. He advised us to immediately stop all baths, only showers with mild soap such as Ivory. He also put her on an antibiotic called Macrodantin. She took this to clear the infection then took a low daily dose for about a year which seems to have stopped them. Once in a great while she may come down with an infection again and Macrodantin easily clears it up and then it's over. I know there seems to be no proven medical reason about drinking cranberry juice to help prevent UTI infections but it seems to work for my daughter. About a 2years ago I found a chewable cranberry and vitamin C supplement at a health food store. Since she been taking this she has not had an infection. I wish you luck. I know how frustrating this can be.
