EXTRA FLUIDS ARE NECESSARY TO BE GIVEN TO KIDS AS THEY HAVE MORE ACIDIC IN THEIR URINE & IF NOT FLUSHED OUT FREQ. WILL CAUSE REINFECTION PROBLEM. SHE MAY NEED FREQ. ICE POPS OR DRINKS CONTAINING A COMBINATION OF CRANBERRY JUICE, SWEETER JUICE OR SUGAR SUBSTITUTE IN A 50-50 CONCENTRATION 3-4 TIMES A DAY UNTIL INFECTION GOES AWAY - THEN 2XDAY FOR PREVENTION. SHE MAY NEED TO HAVE HER URETHRA CHECKE TOSE IF SHE IS ADEQUATELY EMPTYING HER BLADDER- IF NOT THEN SHE MAY NEED URETHRA STRETCHED TO ALLOW BLADDER TO FULLY EMPTY AS I HADTO DO FOR MY DAUGHTER WHO HAD SIMILIAR PROBLEMS. SHE WILL NEED TO SEE A UROLOGIST FOR THIS PROCEDURE. THESE RECURRING BLADDER INFECTIONS WERE THE MAIN SYMPTOM OF THIS SMALL URETHRA PROBLEM MY DAUGHTER EXPERIENCED. SHE ALSO HAD VERY POOR NERVE SENSATION TO ALLOW HER TO KNOW WHEN SHE NEEDED TO EMPTY HER BLADDER SO SHE WOULD HOLD FOR HOURS WHILE N SCHOOL UNTIL SHE BECAME EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE & THEN SHE WOULD GO TO THE BATHROOM & EXCRETE HUGE AMOUNTS. THIS WAS ANOTER REASON FOR THE RECURRENT BLADDER INFECTIONS. WE ALSO SWITCHED MY DAUGHTER FROM TP TO BABY WIPES FOR BETTER CLEANING PROTECTION. I HOPE I HAVE BEEN OF SOME HELP WITH ALL THIS INFORMATION.
