I've had UC for 30 years and have had all the awful treatments. I am just getting over a bad seige so I was also looking for diet, etc. I found an excellent explanation why a high fiber diet is good for UC on the internet and have been on this for one week. I feel better and have less heart burn now that I've lowered my fat intake. Try the library for relaxation tapes or ask your Dr. I've tried all kinds of them and get tired of them fast so just keep trying. you need to get your family involved in keeping a stress free environment for you, esp. right now. Stress doesn't cause UC but it exasperates it. I refuse to allow anyone to give me stress.
