I am 38 and just found out that I am also BetaThalMinor. My family doc said that there was not much to be done for this and that I should not have symptoms, but that was the reason I saw him was the symptoms, which led to blood tests, which led to questionable "iron deficiency anemia", and then led to testing for the disorder. My symptoms are generally the same as what you all are describing and I have taken it upon myself to research all I can. That is why I am here at this website. I take iron-free natural/organic vitamins with 400mcg of folate; an extra supplement for cells - which contain 400I.U. of natural vitamin E, 10,000I.U. of A, 400mg of C, 165mg of calcium, 15mg zinc, 50mcg selenium, 2mg copper, and 3mg manganese. I also take another supplement which contains grapeseed extract, grapeskin, citrus bioflavoniods. I also try to eat only natural organic food, no processed junk. I feel my health is worth every penny I spend on it. I still have my up and down days but the most part is that I am feeling better, but not 100%. My doctor thinks I am crazy and that my vitamins and supplements are just a waste of money. But he has no answers for this disorder. Best of health to everyone with this disorder and I believe you all have symptoms.
