Hi my name is Gina and my son who was dxed at age 2 with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/PDD was given a several tests, one of them being the one for frag x which was negative. They still have to do an eeg, but are holding off until he is a little older to do that. They also ran blood, urine and hearing tests on him, but the hearing test was a complete fiasco we still need to have that done over again,because we only got partial results. My sons dx the neurologist said was already pre-determined in utero and is also classified as infantile autism. I too have educated myself with books, internet and questioning professionals and there are the majority that are genetic and others like my son that are not genetic. I hope they find a way to screen for this while the mother is still pregnant, they have a triple marker test for defects and down syndrome, why not autism.
