We found out our daughter had ambliopia in June of 99, at 2 years old in the left eye, we started patching right away due to losing sight in that eye, which also had already happened and had to get glasses also. In June 2000 we had surgery in both eyes, the muscles where detached and the eyes were realined and muscles were reattached. Surgery went great, but we still have to patch full time due to the eye losing sight and getting weaker. We were told that we will have to patch off and on until she's nine or ten. Thank God she is good at wearing the patch and glasses. Listen to your Doctor also get a second opinon, we only have one set of eyes and don't waste and time doing it.
